Zonkatron’s Wisdom (First Change Yourself)

🏵️ Have you ever noticed how you can smell someone else’s stinky body odor right away, but you cannot smell your own? Diabolical 🤪

It sounds silly, but your nose actually gets used to your own smell. Because you are around yourself all day long, your brain decides your smell is totally normal and ignores it.
That exact same thing happens with making mistakes! When your friend drops a ball, spills their juice, or acts bossy, you see it instantly. It seems super obvious to you, and you might wonder how they did not notice what they just did.
But when you mess up, your brain plays a trick on you. You do not see your own mistakes because you are so used to being you. You always know what you meant to do, so you excuse yourself, even when you accidentally act mean or mess something up.
This creates a funny problem where everybody is walking around pointing fingers at each other. You see their bad choices, and they see your bad choices. It is like everyone is wearing dirty shirts, but only looking at the dirt on their neighbor’s clothes!

“Soul Growth starts the moment you become aware that your soul isn’t perfect. This life is a chance to attain perfection.” – Zonkatron

Now think about what happens when you finally realize you are the one who smells bad. Maybe you ran around outside all afternoon and suddenly notice your shirt stinks. You do not stand there arguing about it or pointing at someone else.
Instead, you go take a shower and put on fresh clothes! As soon as you realize you have a problem, you naturally want to fix it.

Awareness is like a giant light switch turning on in a dark room.
The exact same thing happens with your behavior and your mistakes. The second you realize, “Hey, I was actually being really pushy just now,” everything changes. You stop worrying about what everyone else is doing wrong and start focusing on your own actions.
Fixing your own mistakes instead of picking on other people is how you truly grow up on the inside. It takes a lot of bravery to look at yourself and say, “I made a mistake, and I am going to make it right.”
That is what real wisdom and goodness are all about. It is not about acting perfect or telling other people how to live their lives. It is about working hard every single day to be a kinder, better person than you were yesterday.
So the next time you spot someone else making a mistake, pause for a second. Remind yourself to check your own heart first. When you start changing yourself, you make the whole world a much better place!
